MECHANICAL DESIGNER

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Mechanical Designers are responsible for the production of 2-D and 3-D technical drawings and models in support of product development and production.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under general supervision of the Vice President of Engineering, Engineering Manager, Senior Design Engineers, or Design Engineers, develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control systems using AutoCAD and SolidWorks 3-D modeling software.

  • Construct 3-D solid models of components and systems for rapid prototyping, manufacturing processes, function and motion validation, mechanical design margin, and interference studies.
  • Apply basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with ASME Y14.5M:1994.
  • Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, mark-ups, and related information to assess factors affecting component design, manufacturing procedures, and assembly or maintenance instructions.
  • Layout and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views and construct 3-D models to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, and subsystems of rotating machinery for production or rapid prototyping.
  • Layout, draw, and reproduce illustrations for reference manuals and technical publications to describe nomenclature, function, and interrelation of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control systems.
  • Revise, modify, correct, and check drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
  • Initiate and complete Engineering Change Notices (ECN) in accordance with ISO 9001:2000 quality management system.
  • Check dimensions and tolerances of components and materials.
  • Coordinate with and consult staff engineers to design, layout, or detail components and systems and to resolve design, manufacturing, or assembly issues.
  • Coordinate with and consult assembly, production, and service personnel to resolve design, manufacturing, or assembly issues.
  • Ensure quality control in accordance with the company ISO-9001:2008 Quality Assurance System (QAS).
  • Maintain a safe work environment in accordance with company HSE standards and procedures.
  • Interact and support a broad spectrum of personnel internal and external to the company. Work effectively and efficiently in both team-based and independent working environments to reduce costs and add value to the organization.
  • Perform any other duties that maybe assigned by the Engineering Manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduate of an ASEE-approved two-year college or industrial program in Engineering Design Graphics or equivalent education, training, and experience; and

  • two (2) years experience and comprehensive drafting skills with AutoCAD 2000-2006.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Graduate of an ASEE-approved two-year college or industrial program in Engineering Design Graphics or equivalent education, training, and experience; and

  • Four (4) years experience and comprehensive drafting skills with AutoCAD 2000-2006 and development of 3-D solid models with various software programs such as Pro/E, SolidWorks, or COSMOSWorks.


TECHNICAL SALES MANAGER

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibility of the Technical Sales Manager is managing of all technical content in proposals and contracts for Thrustmaster equipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review, evaluate and formulate responses to customer specifications, codes, regulations, etc.
  • Define cost of compliance or reasoning for non-compliance to inquiry specifications.
  • Write technical proposals in response to inquiries.
  • Conduct technical meetings with customers in coordination with Regional Sales Managers and / or Sales Agents.
  • Provide technical support to the worldwide sales force and interact with customers and prospects as needed.
  • Write and update product specifications as needed.
  • Interact and support a broad spectrum of personnel internal and external to the company.
  • Work effectively and efficiently in both team-based and independent working environments to reduce costs and add value to the organization.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Sales Manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors of Science Mechanical or Marine Engineering.
  • Naval Architect.
  • 10 plus years Experience in the Marine or Offshore Industry.
  • Familiar with Industry Specifications for Marine Equipment.
  • Classification Society Standards for Propulsion Equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering
  • 10 years Experience of Application of Propulsion, DP and Thruster Systems.


PROCESS ENGINEER

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for production of hydraulic power systems per ABS and other marine specifications and custom requirements with skill and knowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCAD, FEA, and ANSYS; Construct 2-D and 3-D models of components and systems for manufacturing processes; Perform structural design for products of hydraulic component using knowledge of calculations, schematics, finite element analysis and interference studies, Coordinate with quality assurance in accordance with ISO-9011:2000 or regulatory or classification requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
