Inland and offshore marine construction
vessels are typically required to hire tugs and crews even if
to move a short distance. Positioning of ships, barges and platforms
is Thrustmaster’s specialty. For new vessel applications,
retractable azimuth thrusters or tiltable outdrives up to 2000hp
(1500kW) using diesel-electric drive or diesel-hydraulic drive
are most common.
