Transverse tunnel thrusters can be used in the bow or stern
of a vessel and are used all over the world. They are fixed tunnels
installed in the hull of a ship below the water line for and/or
aft and are designed to push a ship sideways during slow speed
maneuvering. Thrustmaster offers a great line of hydraulic tunnel
thrusters from 35hp (25kW) to 3,000hp (2250kW). They Many
dynamic positioning solutions include the transverse tunnels
in their calculations. Many of Thrustmasters models already have
ABS approval.

The drawings show the standard tunnel length. The shipyard
can extend the tunnel or Thrustmaster can furnish thrusters with
longer tunnels as required, at extra cost.
